La Baia North is a boutique eight-story condominium of 57 waterfront residences on East Bay Harbor Drive in Bay Harbor Islands, the small island town just west of Bal Harbour. It is developed by Ian Bruce Eichner's Continuum Company, the firm behind Continuum South Beach, with architecture by Luis Revuelta and interiors curated by New York-based Durukan Design. It follows the sold-out sister building La Baia at 9201 East Bay Harbor Drive, a short walk to the south, by the same developer and architect.
The residences
Layouts run from two bedrooms plus a den to four bedrooms, with roughly 1,400 to 2,100 square feet of interior space and private terraces that face either the bay and ocean or the sunset and the Miami skyline. Homes have ceilings up to 10 feet, floor-to-ceiling impact glass, imported European wide-plank wood floors and laundry rooms with full-size Miele machines. Kitchens pair custom European cabinetry and a pantry with Miele appliances, quartz countertops and Hansgrohe fittings, while bathrooms are finished in natural marble with double vanities and glass-enclosed showers with dual rain heads. The seventh and eighth floors hold the Lower and Upper Penthouse collections, whose largest layout offers about 2,076 square feet inside and 329 square feet of terrace, configured as four bedrooms or three bedrooms and a den.
Amenities and life on the water
More than 20,000 square feet of amenities are anchored by a 10,000-square-foot rooftop deck with separate areas for adults and children: a pool with a sun shelf, a heated soaking spa, a summer kitchen and a sunset lounge, plus a splash pad, nest swings and play tents for kids. At the water's edge, residents have private boat slips, a launch dock stocked with kayaks and paddleboards, and direct ocean access through nearby Haulover Inlet, and buyers receive a private yacht club membership. Indoors there are a fitness center, private business offices, a 24/7 front desk with full-service valet and a full-time property manager.
Location
Bal Harbour Shops, Surfside and the beach are less than a mile away, and Downtown Miami, Brickell and the Miami, Opa-locka and Fort Lauderdale airports are a short drive.
