Last updated: November 3, 2026
As of November 2026, the Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences Miami has not been reported topped out. The latest dated progress report is from August 23, 2026, when the concrete structure reached about level 85 of 100 and crews started the ninth and final cube. Site signage points to topping out in winter 2026-27, and completion is targeted for the second quarter of 2028. At 1,049 feet it will be Florida's first supertall, and it is expected to become the tallest building in Miami.
This page is refreshed as new reports come out, and any change will show in the first paragraph.
Where construction stands
- Structure: level 85 of 100 as of August 23, 2026 (Florida YIMBY, Aug 27, 2026). That figure counts structural levels, not occupied stories.
- Cubes: the tower is nine offset glass cubes. Eight are structurally in place and the ninth began in late August 2026.
- Facade: curtain wall had reached the seventh cube as of the August report.
- Pace: about 25 levels were added between February and August 2026, and earlier reports describe roughly one floor every ten days.
- Topping out: not yet reported. Signage on site gives winter 2026-27.
- Cranes and interiors: No report of crane removal or interior fit-out has been published. Dezeen's December 2025 report noted two large cranes in use.
The most recent articles (Haute Residence, updated September 30, 2026, and a South Florida media report on October 14, 2026) repeat the August status. They do not report a new floor count.
Milestone timeline
- 2021: sales open (Florida Trend, Aug 7, 2026).
- October 2022: official groundbreaking (Miami Today, Dec 22, 2025).

- July 21, 2025: formwork is past the 35th floor and work is in the fourth cube (Florida YIMBY).

- February 25, 2026: the 60th floor is reached and work enters the sixth cube (Florida YIMBY).

How tall is it?
The tower is 100 stories and 1,049 feet. That figure is above sea level. One October 2026 report puts it at roughly 1,040 feet above ground. Sources differ slightly: the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat lists 1,041 feet. Downtown height limits near Miami International Airport are covered in the tallest buildings guide.
When will it be complete?
The site's own figure is 2028. Dated reports have moved within that year:
- January 2028: the target in Florida YIMBY's March and July 2025 reports.
- Second quarter 2028: the target in Florida YIMBY's August 2026 report. An October 2026 report cites a target around June 2028 and notes schedules can change.
One August 2026 magazine feature said "next year," which would be 2027. Treat 2028 as the working date and expect it to be refined as the building tops out.
What buyers should know about closing
No public source gives a closing date for the Waldorf Astoria residences. These points are sourced:
- Availability: PMG reported the residences more than 90% sold in December 2025. A May 2026 report put the remaining count at 26 units, and said one-bedroom residences were sold out with two-bedrooms starting at $3.3 million. The site lists pricing from approximately $3M. Prices change, and Gabriella Gonda can share the current price list and what is left.
- Deposits: PMG's Ryan Shear told Florida Trend that buyers put down an average 40% deposit.
- Finish: residences are delivered fully finished, and Junior Suites are also furnished.
- Closing: closing dates are set by the purchase contract and the developer's notices, not by news reports, and none has been published. See the guide to buying a pre-construction condo in Miami.
Confirm contract terms, deposit schedules and closing conditions with a Florida real estate attorney.
